Pen Cap Ventilation Test

Pen Cap Ventilation Test

There is often a small round hole on the cap of the ballpoint pen, water-based pen and writing pen that we use daily, which is what we often call the “life-saving hole”

Since children are so active and mischievous, it is possible to inhale the cap while using the pen, and if the cap is large enough or the ventilation hole is smooth, the risk of choking can be reduced.

The national standard GB 21027-2007 “General Requirements for the Safety of Student Supplies” makes safety provisions for the caps of writing pens, markers, correction pens and watercolor pens, and there needs to be a continuous air passage of at least 6.8 square millimeters on the cap.

The cap should have a minimum ventilation of 8 l/min at room temperature with a maximum pressure difference of 1.33 kPa, and the cap should not lead to a choking hazard.

It can be seen that the state is using air permeability to improve the safety factor of the pen cap, so manufacturers are also actively looking for efficient and accurate air permeability detection methods during production.

The special tester for the ventilation of the pen cap produced by our company is undoubtedly an excellent tool for detecting the air permeability of the pen cap.

The instrument uses the flow method to directly read the instantaneous flow value of the pen cap under the specified pressure, which has the characteristics of fast test speed and high test accuracy compared with other measurement methods.

Good man-machine operation interface, convenient for users to use, data storage and statistical functions for follow-up analysis and data processing, a variety of input and output interfaces to meet the customer’s communication and automation control needs, the instrument can effectively assist pen cap manufacturers to complete the detection task efficiently.
